studio snapshots

the vices inc crew any my self have been working on panels attached directly to the wall lately at my studio. the panels go through many changes and its common for there to be over spray and marks made outside of the edges of the panels.

i like these marks and they way they are built up. they are all accidents and the by-products of the painting process. the marks are like a negative of the painting.

Honey Install Shots

On monday Jesse Draxler and myself hung the first of the three part Vices Inc show we will be having at Honey in North East Minneapolis. First round is Jesse and I, second is Justin Seahon and Chris Park and the Third will be the colab stuff all of us having been working on. The artwork is up and will be there for the next month or so, head on over to check it out.

*note. We will not be having an official opening, but may decide to all get together one night and head over there. stay tuned for details on that.

some of the vices inc crew met up at my studio for a lil art making party on saturday. things got a little crazy. started off with the destruction of one of my painted stuffed animals, to shots of cheap rum, followed by some drunken colab art making and ended with a photo shoot with pants on the ground, no homo. all in all not a bad time.

Jesse Draxler's new site

Good friend and Vice INC collaborator Jesse Draxler has some new digs on the interweb. Jesse is one of the most prolific artists i know. his site has tons of work and you could spend hours there. here is a sneak peak of some of my favs.
