5 albums that made my week

I am by no means a music critic and this is not a top 5 album review. but i love new music and for whatever reason it seems like this week ive found a lot good stuff. i listen to music all day at work and i need good tunes when im in the studio painting. so here are 5 albums that have made my week more enjoyable.

Adele - 21. i actually cant say im in love with the album, yet. ive only listened to it the whole way through once. but i LOVE "someone like you". that track gives me chills. it was the first song i really listened to when i got home from pittsburgh. i was driving home from getting my car, and it really made an impression on me.

also, if this album is still the #1 in the uk billboard next week it will break the beatles record for longest album to be in the #1 spot...

The Strokes - Angles. i just got it and have only listened to it once, but i am indeed listening to it right now as i write this. ive always been a huge The Strokes fan. i can tell this will soon be my "goto album when i dont know what to listen to" album.

Devotchka - 100 lovers. not much to say about this one. great album all around. listen to it alot in the morning at work. its a really good "way to start the day" album.

J Mascis - Several Shades of Why. Once again just an all around great album. its great background music for working, reading or anything in general. i listened to it right when i got to the studio tonight and it put me in a great mood.

The Kills - Blood Pressures. I am notorious for loving a band but not knowing when they are releasing a new album. but thanks to my addiction to tumblr, i discovered that The Kills did indeed have a new album. i dont think its out till early april but i couldnt wait. i think ive listened to this album probably 40 times since i got it. in fact last night at the studio i listened to it 3 times in a row. ya i fucking LOVE it.

oh and The Kills will be at First Ave on May 5th. see ya there (i wont be sober, but hopefully i dont face plant off my skateboard on the way home this time.)

like i said, not a review. just 5 albums the made my week.
